Atlas of Scales is a guide to scales for jazz-originated improvised music, written out in all 12 keys. Source of inspiration, that will keep a musician of any level busy with practicing for years. Especially useful when searching for new ways of expressing music ideas while improvising and composing.

Included: common scales, blues scales, bebop scales, harmonic scales, augmented scales, whole-tone scales, pentatonics (5 types), hexatonics (4 types), poly-pentatonics and more.

Scales are based on seventh chords and categorised in "families": Major, Dominant, Minor, Half-Diminished and Diminished. Each chord-family section starts with a scale straightforwardly derived from the chord. The following scales are formed by alterations of the scale tones and by adding and skipping the notes of the primary scale. This provides a variety of scales that are related to the given chord and at the same time allows to express unique colours and emotions.
